The wealth of technical detail and distinctive terminology of submarine warfare in the WW1 period makes for an authentic, if occasionally claustrophobic reading experience. Vivid gritty adventure with well-drawn characters, it's an absorbing read that had me looking forward to each evening's return to the book."
